Lockport CARES is almost entirely funded by donations from people just like you. We come as individuals, religious centers, businesses, and social organizations and clubs. This includes scouting groups and school classrooms. We’re not exaggerating when we say that people throughout Western New York have banded together to make all of this possible. People often assume that all shelters are run by the government and get their funding from tax dollars. This couldn’t be further from the truth. When our guests find out how things really work, however, they’re often surprised to find out how many people in our area actually care about them! We encourage you to be part of Lockport CARES in any way that you are able.

Due to storage constraints, we are not able to accept clothing donations. However, we are always in need of non-perishable supplies such as tissues, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, etc.	You can use the button below to make an online credit card donation. Or, use the address below to mail a check directly to the shelter. All donations are tax-deductible. Lockport CARES is registered as a 503(c) non-profit organzation. Funds received may be applied to a matching grant.	There are many things that you can do to help at the shelter that involve nothing more than your time.
