ready to cut the ribbon on the first emergency homeless shelter in
Eastern Niagara County and the largest of its kind in the county.
"Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening/ Open House" will take place on Thursday,
November 12th from 3-6pm, with Ribbon Cutting at 3pm.
Join us at 192 Genesee Street in beautiful Lockport NY for this
historical and blessed event.

Thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who have so generously donated
their time and energy! The Lockport CARES emergency shelter's
renovations are moving along at a steady pace. Much has been
done inside the home to meet certain building code requirements as well
as make the home as comfortable as possible for our guests.
The work includes, but is not limited to: creating a handicapped
bedroom and bathroom on the first floor; completely "gutting" the
kitchen, upstairs bath and numerous other rooms; hardwood floors in the
front hallway, dining room and living room have been completely
refinished. In addition many of the old shrubs have been
removed to make way for the wheelchair ramp and the new back patio,
which has already been poured. Presently a new roof is being
put on and most recently our good friends at Amherst Alarm have put in
new "hardwired" smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detctors.
Ways to participate:
