VOLUNTEERS
are needed to staff the house, help rehab the rooms, do landscaping,
prepare meals, help with laundry, work on fundraising and
more. Volunteers are also needed for our five standing
committees on the "Our
People" page.

Lockport CARES is looking to the community for conceptual and material support. First it is important that people outside of our own organizational committee recognize the problem of homelessness and embrace the emergency shelter as a response. Second, and equally important, donations will be the lifeblood of Lockport CARES. This effort will need money, property, clothing, food, and volunteers. Businesses, corporations, and private citizens will be the source of these donations. Our most immediate need is finding a building suitable for the shelter and raising funds to put it into operation. Anyone interested in making a donation may do so by contacting Jim Haid at (716) 433-5252.
