Lockport CARES is almost entirely funded by donations from people just like you. We come as individuals, religious centers, businesses, and social organizations and clubs. This includes scouting groups and school classrooms. We’re not exaggerating when we say that people throughout Western New York have banded together to make all of this possible. People often assume that all shelters are run by the government and get their funding from tax dollars. This couldn’t be further from the truth. When our guests find out how things really work, they’re often surprised to find out how many people in our area actually care about them! We encourage you to be part of Lockport CARES in any way that you are able.
